At the beginning of 2017, the Equiniti Board approved a new diversity and inclusion policy for the Group, to advance our diversity efforts.
We have established a diversity and inclusion council and set up five diversity and inclusion networks, to engage colleagues and drive the agenda throughout our business. This year, our networks have run a broad spectrum of activity ranging from hosting their own radio show in celebration of International Women’s Day to sponsoring the inaugural Worthing Pride parade.
A major focus for 2018 is gender diversity and inclusion. This year we joined the 30% Club, setting a goal to have 30% female Executive leaders by 2020. Guy Wakeley, Equiniti Group Chief Executive commented:
Equiniti has committed to the 30% Club, we have made considerable progress in the appointment of women to senior positions over the last three years, but there is more to do to increase diversity. This is another important step towards narrowing the gender pay gap, attracting new talent, and unleashing the extraordinary potential of our colleagues.
Our strategy is to partner with organisations that support our aim of being a diverse and inclusive business. We work closely with our learning partner everywoman and recently have become a Stonewall Diversity Champion. Our training initiatives include launching a new diversity and inclusion course, as well as running unconscious bias training.
