Share about your role at EQ.
This year, I moved into a Relationship Manager position within the Relationship Management team at EQ. Prior to that, I was an Account Associate within this team for four years. As a Relationship Manager, I work directly with our clients to ensure that they are satisfied with our service. The role also includes acting as a liaison with the rest of the business to help them with activities, such as dividends, proxy and corporate actions.
What is something special about your location?
I live in Hastings, Minnesota, a small town about 30 minutes outside of the Twin Cities. I feel I get the best of both worlds living in Hastings. I get the small-town experience and closeness but am not far from the cities if I am ever looking for an adventure. Many people come to Minnesota for the Mall of America, and it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for them. I am close enough to go all the time!
What has happened in your career so far?
I have been in many roles within this company in the past 16 years, including Customer Care, Output, Corporate Actions, and now Relationship Management. I’ve held customer service, processing and leadership roles. I’ve had the pleasure of working on many projects and teams throughout the years and have obtained a lot of knowledge through those experiences, but I continue to learn new things every day.
What do you love about your work?
The people! Internally and externally. I’ve made some great friends through working at EQ. The testament to how great a place it is to work can be seen in the long tenure of many of the team members. I’ve gotten to grow my career at EQ alongside many colleagues that I began working with 15 years ago in the Customer Care Center. I also get the pleasure of building and maintaining relationships with our clients and the individuals who work for them. These relationships inspire me to provide the best possible service as a representative of EQ.
What is your biggest EQ achievement?
In 2019, I won the EQ Excellence Award for customer satisfaction. It was such an honor to be nominated and go to England for the award ceremony. I had never been outside of the U.S. before, so that was a prize in itself. Winning the award made me proud of the service I provide to our clients. I am also proud of the service EQ provides overall through all their hardworking and dedicated team members.
What are you looking forward to in the future at EQ?
I’m looking forward to seeing how EQ transforms in the coming years. There's a lot is going on right now, which makes me excited to see how we will grow as a company and how I can grow individually within my role.
Share a fun fact about yourself.
How to choose just one? I love zombie movies and shows, as well as almost anything true crime. When I was little, I wanted to be a criminal profiler for the FBI. I collect piggy banks. I like to read and watch movies and love to play pool. I dislike fish, both to eat and to look at. I can say the alphabet backward. In elementary school, I won a prize for dressing up a cow and got my picture in the paper. I’ve also never seen any of the Star Wars movies.
