Keynote: Cyber Security - The Big Con?
Major General Jonathan Shaw is a user of technology, not a technologist. After reading Politics and Philosophy at Oxford, he served 32 years in the British Army, where he learnt to adapt to the changing possibilities and responsibilities of using cutting edge technology on operations and in the counter terrorist world. This experience was particularly useful in his final post in the MoD as first head of Defence cyber security, with a lead role in the development of the first national cyber security plan. This experience has made him in high demand, for his insights and observations about the human impact of digital technology, the societal adaptations required and his ability to communicate the digital challenge in analogue terms people can understand.
