EQ (Equiniti), a leading provider of mission-critical shareholder and regulatory technology and services, has announced the appointment of Thera Prins as new CEO of its UK Shareholder Services division. She succeeds Paul Matthews, who retires after 11 years in the role.
Thera has a deep knowledge of the business having joined Equiniti 6 years ago to lead its retail investor business EQi, which she notably grew into a Top 5 firm in the UK. Other roles at EQ have included CEO of its regulated business, Group Chief Operating Officer, Chief Transformation Officer and Chair of its Indian operations. She led the Group’s crisis response to Covid throughout the pandemic, leading to widespread praise from clients, which include many of the FTSE100.
The appointment reflects Thera’s proven track-record and Equiniti’s ongoing focus on digital transformation as it pursues its vision of being the leading global share registrar.
Prior to Equiniti, Thera spent over 28 years in transformative leadership roles within regulated financial services and blue-chip companies. Most notably Ernst & Young, The Financial Times, Lloyds Banking Group, Barclays and Visa.
