Ashley Gerrard Senior Manager, EQ Introduction and what your role is at EQ
I’m Ashley Gerrard, a senior manager in the EQ’s Company Secretarial Services team. We provide company secretarial services ranging from board and meeting support, governance advisory and compliance services to a wide portfolio of clients in both the listed and private markets.
What office are you located at?
As a remote worker, I spend time with the team in London each quarter often taking the opportunity to walk to the Thames and enjoy the contrast between the City’s historic architecture and its modern skyline.
What’s happened in your career up to this point?
I trained in house at a FTSE250 international engineering group and since then have enjoyed a mix of working in listed and large international private groups. Working at EQ is my first professional services role and I’m enjoying working on the other side and the variety that comes with a portfolio of clients and getting involved in the marketing aspect.
What do you like about EQ?
What I enjoy most about EQ is the people—it’s a genuinely collaborative environment where experience and knowledge is shared openly, and everyone is focused on delivering the best outcomes for clients. Our management team is approachable and genuinely open to hearing different viewpoints, which makes it a great environment to contribute and grow.
What's your biggest EQ achievement?
I was part of a panel for the CGPro event for junior company secretaries earlier in the year and sharing my career experiences and tips and tricks with our attendees was a really rewarding and energising experience.
What are you looking forward to in the future at EQ?
I’m looking forward to expanding our client portfolio and working more closely with colleagues across the wider EQ Group to leverage our collective expertise and deliver even greater value to our clients.
Do you have a fun fact to share?
I love sea swimming and I’m lucky enough to now live very near to the coast outside Edinburgh so my favourite thing to do is go for a dip, and have even been in on New Years day!
A big thank you to Ashley for sharing her thoughts with us.
