Bryony Wilson Bryony Wilson Business Development Manager - Employee Solution

Introduction and what your role is at EQ

I recently joined EQ in May 2025 as Business Development Manager - Employee Solutions. Ultimately my role is to support the growth of our business, which is done by working closely with new and existing clients to understand their strategic objectives and supporting them with achieving these. I do this in collaboration with our experienced share plan administration teams and through our comprehensive technical product offering.

What office are you located at?

I work remotely from the beautiful region of Yorkshire in England. This setup gives me the best of both worlds, I’m able to travel to our EQ offices to collaborate with colleagues, clients, and prospects as needed, while also enjoying the flexibility and comfort of working from home.

When working from home, I’m based in a village just outside Leeds City Centre. Leeds is known for its industrial roots but has transformed into a vibrant hub of culture and commerce. From its thriving arts scene to diverse culinary offerings and buzzing nightlife, it’s a city that truly has something for everyone. If you haven’t visited before, I’d highly recommend it!

What’s happened in your career up to this point?

Like many in our industry, I found my way into Employee Share Plans by accident and here I am, nearly ten years later!

Before joining EQ, I worked at J.P. Morgan Workplace Solutions as a Vice President, Client Relationship Manager, supporting corporate clients with bespoke share plan solutions. This role gave me invaluable international experience, particularly across European and U.S. markets, and allowed me to work with both private and listed companies.

Prior to that, I spent seven years at Yorkshire Building Society/YBS Share Plans, progressing through various roles including Corporate Relationship Manager, Business Development Manager, Share Plan Account Manager, and Share Plan Support Specialist.

Starting my career in operations has given me a unique perspective, allowing me to truly understand the challenges faced by both our clients and internal teams.

I’ve been an active member of the GEO UK Chapter since 2022, which has allowed me to stay closely connected to the latest developments within the industry. For those unfamiliar, the Global Equity Organisation (GEO) was founded in 1999 to promote innovation, creativity, and effectiveness in the share plan space. In the UK, we have a vibrant group of professionals committed to strengthening GEO’s UK presence, sharing best practices and creating opportunities for collaboration and learning. I feel privileged to work alongside so many talented individuals who are equally passionate about the value of share plans.

What do you like about EQ?

Just over two months into my time at EQ, and what stands out the most is the people! Everyone I’ve met has been welcoming, supportive, and genuinely collaborative. There’s a strong sense of community and a positive culture, which is no small feat for an organisation of this size.

What's your biggest EQ achievement?

Although I’ve only been with EQ for a short time, a standout moment so far was presenting at the 2025 ProShare Celebrating Excellence event alongside one of our award-winning clients, Beazley. They received the ProShare Award for Best New Plan, and presenting their story with their Senior Assistant Company Secretary was a proud and memorable experience.

I should also mention that this happened in just my second week at EQ which was nerve-wracking! But it was incredibly empowering to be trusted with such a great opportunity so early on.

What are you looking forward to in the future at EQ?

We’re in the midst of an exciting technology transformation journey, and I’ve been fortunate to get a sneak peek of what’s coming. All I can say is, WOW! I can’t wait to introduce these innovations to our clients and prospects.

I’m also looking forward to seeing the business continue to grow, especially with strategic acquisitions like Notified, which open up exciting new opportunities.

The second half of the year is packed with industry events, including our EQ Conference in October (which happens to be on my birthday!), the ProShare Conference, the GEO Pan-European Regional Event, and of course, the ProShare Awards. These events are invaluable for reconnecting with contacts and strengthening relationships which is something I always enjoy.

Do you have a fun fact to share?

Outside of work, I’m equally busy being a mum to my little boy, who’s almost 18 months old. As any toddler parent will know, he definitely keeps me on my toes!

When I do get a rare moment to myself, I love all things food, cocktails, and shopping. Luckily, Leeds is a fantastic city for all three and I feel fortunate to have it right on my doorstep.

A big thank you to Bryony for sharing her thoughts with us.
