Evolving The Death Notification Service

Evolving The Death Notification Service

12 October 2022

The Death Notification Service (DNS) is now firmly established as the industry leading solution for anyone wanting to make the process of death notification easier and less stressful.

Boasting over 35 member organisations and having processed almost 400,000 notifications to date, it’s easy to see why so many businesses choose to work exclusively with us.

“As well as operating DNS and supporting the death notifications that are delivered through the service, we also have our own extensive client base and as a result we receive over 300,000 notifications of death a year ourselves through our core EQ business.”

DNS is the only service that will 100% guarantee the notification made not only gets to the organisation but will be accepted as a legitimate notification, as if you had contacted them directly yourself. It is also the only solution on the market that does not require users to upload personal documents such as a passport or driving license. We validate the identity of the notifier using an automated built-in process. We also don’t need users to upload a death certificate as we have a unique and exclusive relationship that allows us to validate the death based on the data we collect.

With any solution, we know one size does not fit all. Depending on the products and services you offer, as well as the size of your business, what you need from a death notification service to support your bereavement process will differ. When we engage with any business with a view to deploying DNS, we always take the time to understand your needs; your processes and, of course, your customers and the outcomes they will require.

We are now in the position where we can offer you a variety of solutions, solutions that will be the right fit and right feel for your organisation. The table below sets out the choices you now have and what you get with each option.

You may not be sure what level would work best for your business but don’t worry. As part of our consultation process, we take the time to really understand your business, the way your customers engage with you and what it is you need to know when someone is advising you about the death of a customer.

As well as operating DNS and supporting the death notifications that are delivered through the service, we also have our own extensive client base and, as a result, we receive over 300,000 notifications of death a year ourselves through our core EQ business. That’s the largest number of any commercial business within the UK. This means we understand all sides of the bereavement process; customer and business.

We created EQ End of Life solutions to support our own customers initially but upon request from our clients we made the services available to them and now those services are also available to you. It’s easy to see why the major banks choose to work with us when creating DNS and why other sectors now see this as the premier End of Life services business partner.

Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to know more about the options provided not just by DNS but also any aspects of our support solutions. Our consultations are free and will definitely help you to ensure your delivering your best service.
